COOPENERGY Workshop 1: Identifying best practice models on multi-level governance

Location: Lyon

Image of 1st COOPENERGY Workshop

What was the workshop about? This workshop covered a key first step for the COOPENERGY project. Through the project we are looking to cooperate better on sustainable energy initiatives by working better in partnership at different levels - from communities through to governments - to manage and deliver actions (multi-level governance). The first step is to identify what good practice already exists across Europe that we can learn from!

The workshop looked at how we can identify best practice examples of multi-level governance from across Europe:

  • Discussing and agreeing the framework of a European survey to identify best practice examples
  • Reviewing existing multi-level governance (MLG) models from COOPENERGY project partners
  • Finalising the criteria for identifying 60 of the ‘best’ examples from across Europe on multi-level governance – what is the definition of best?
